TROY VAN SPANJE – InPower Fitness
I have been in the fitness industry for over 15 years and currently the Director of the Inpower Fitness brand. I have certifications as a strength coach, corrective exercise specialist, yogafit, and the selective movement assessment certification. These main qualifications help set the groundwork for the programs that I offer to my members in trying to achieve their personal goals. Over the years I have trained professional athletes from Basketball, Soccer, Rugby and Golf and I’m also included in part of the rehabilitation aspect of athlete conditioning because of my corrective exercise background. I am now an addition to the girls of Classical Ballet 121 and I have incorporated strength and conditioning sessions into their routine. The aim is to gain strength and endurance while improving muscle symmetry and function through a variation of exercises in all planes of motion. With the proper use of unilateral movements, this will further enhance the performance of their dance skills for a predominately unilateral profession and also avoid injury. As a certified nutrition coach and metabolic analytics coach, I offer nutrition workshops once per month to educate the girls for body composition results, performance and also knowledge they use later on in their life. Included in the workshop is the Inbody scan which determines over 40 statistics in body composition ranging from body fat percentage, BMI, bone mineral density and also skeletal muscle mass. I believe this is a great way to further educate them on the changes the body goes through throughout adolescent years in terms of height to weight ratio and also changes in muscle mass and proportions.
